Choosing a secured loan means you’re able to provide an asset (like a car) as security against the loan. An advantage of taking out a secured loan is that you may be eligible for a lower interest rate. The secured asset may be forfeited to the bank if you fail to meet your repayments.
An unsecured loan means that there is no security against the loan.
